Approach to University-Industry Collaboration
It is observed that higher education institutions are not yet fully ready for university-industry collaboration. If they exist, they are in the form of collaborations based on friendly relationships.
We need to investigate the reasons. Based on my insights gained over the years, the reasons may be as follows:
- Trust level: The university doesn't trust the industrialists. And the industrialists don't trust the university at all.
- Information status: The information is insufficient.
- Learning status: There is almost no desire to learn.
- Reactive property: Reacting only when events occur, failing to take preventative measures (not being proactive)
I'd like to share the experience I'm currently having.
We prepared surveys on Türkiye's readiness for digital health. We sent them to the Rectors' Offices of 138 Universities that have Medical Faculties.
The surveys were prepared as part of a Technopark Project. Ethics Committee approval was obtained. All details have been shared.
https://www.d-tek.com.tr/tr/projelerimiz/dijital-saglik/ It is also publicly shared at [address]...
Some university administrations sent letters stating, "It will be considered if you send it through your administration.".
Do I need to write any more?
Kind regards.
