Certain attitudes and behaviors indicate that supervisory culture should be evaluated in terms of best practices. Supervisory culture also influences individual evaluations. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">We all evaluate others, events, and our experiences on various occasions. These evaluations are influenced by a wide variety of factors, including a person&#039;s perspective, way of thinking, culture, biases, etc. As individuals, you are responsible for your own evaluations. We all know that such evaluations can cause many people to suffer or unfairly reach certain positions.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">An assessment should be based on a person&#039;s respect for human rights, the rule of law, and ethical\/moral principles. If a person lacks respect for and adheres to these principles, their assessments should not be trusted.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">Evaluators involved in audits representing institutions and organizations such as quality management systems, accreditation, college quality assurance systems, institutional accreditation and program accreditation, and ministry audits, should primarily be selected because they possess specific characteristics. If they do not possess the characteristics mentioned in the second paragraph, the reliability of the evaluation process is compromised. These characteristics should be the selection criteria.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">Institutional evaluators and auditors must have a thorough understanding of the standards and guidelines they reference. They should also possess strong technical skills, particularly in the area of accreditation.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">In addition, institutions and organizations applying for evaluation or auditing must have a very good understanding of the standard being referenced.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">Features, terms, requirements, or conditions are clearly explained in referenced standards and guidelines. How to do it is also found in scientifically accepted publications and books.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">While all information is open and accessible, the facts described below will attract the attention of organizations providing quality, accreditation, and other certifications:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">There are institutions and organizations that have received quality management system certification but have not established a continuous improvement system.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">Inspections often fail to ensure that the referenced standard, guideline, and questions are provided.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">Institutions and organizations that want to obtain certification for various purposes, including genuinely for improvement, may not be satisfied with the information provided by the auditor or evaluator assigned to them.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">Those who haven&#039;t grasped the heart or essence of the matter are also dissatisfied with evaluators or auditors who act based on referrals and are technically knowledgeable and competent.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">It is observed that sometimes relational conveniences are preferred over technical evaluations by evaluating or supervisory institutions or organizations.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">I wanted to draw attention to the vicious cycle that is occurring.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">It is our collective responsibility to avoid being a part of this vicious cycle, to recognize it, and to transform it. We must strengthen the culture of oversight and evaluation based on technical competence, ethical stance, and scientific references.
